5. Brief write-up on the Programme: This doctoral programme on regulatory and policy issues will encourage research that critically analyses current policies/regulations and their impacts and provides directions for future policy development. Focus areas include regulatory policy research, and social and environmental issues related to sustainable development with a special emphasis on energy-economy-environment interactions.

6. Eligibility:

Faculty of Applied Sciences:
(a) M.Sc. or M.Phil. in a relevant field or equivalent.
(b) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Faculty of Policy and Planning:
(a) M.Sc./ M.A./ M.Phil. in a relevant field or equivalent.
(b) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Candidates, who posses a B.Tech. Degree in the relevant field or equivalent, are required to have a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or a 10 point scale or 70% marks.

7. Selection Criteria: Admissions to the Ph.D. programmes are made on the basis of a Statement of Purpose, Written Test and an Interview.

10. Tentative Months related to Admissions: The Ph.D. admissions are open through the year. The pre-Ph.D. course work commences either in July or in January every year. Applications may be made keeping this in mind. All Ph.D. programmes at the University include mandatory pre-Ph.D. course work, in which students are required to attend courses which are scheduled in the semester.
