Salary

Remuneration will be competitive with Indian NGO pay scales and will depend upon candidate’s experience levels and the overall WWF-India salary structure. WWF-India does not provide housing, telephone or vehicle facilities.

Job Description

Globally, WWF has been pioneering and developing new water stewardship initiatives to foster genuine, far reaching contributions to responsible water management. Water stewardship engagements span a range of activities from better understanding of biodiversity and aquatic and other wildlife; water accounting, audits, demand management and efficiency initiatives; water footprint assessments and response, to pro-active investment in watershed management; the development of new international standards and participation in national and international water policy debates.

Specific Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate development of WWF-India’s Water Stewardship Strategy and its action plans. Provide technical leadership for, and manage the water stewardship programme.
  • Build relations with and liaison with a range of stakeholders, such as businesses, NGOs, government and multilateral agencies. Identify partners who would help expand and implement the programme
  • Undertake standard project management tasks as required including drafting project concepts, preparation of budgets and work plans, managing contracts with consultants and partners, and completing timely reports to donors and WWF senior management
  • Help develop an effective communications and outreach strategy that supports objectives
  • Influence policy on water resource management at national and basin level through the private sector
  • Represent WWF–India in a policy forums including conferences, meetings etc, and work closely with the cross cutting teams working on market transformation initiative, river basins and water footprint.
  • Evaluate and monitor performance of all activities in accomplishing project objectives and ensure timely reporting to donors
Job Specifications

Qualification & Experience:

  • MBA / Masters Degree in Environment Sciences
  • 8-10 years management experience with an understanding of water issues and solutions
  • Prior experience working with industries and government will be an advantage
  • Technical proficiency or experience in the field of sustainable water, corporate social responsibility or natural resource management or development
