Berger is seeking a Resident Engineer to join its team working from a project office in Guwahati, India. Guwahati is the largest city in Assam and is located in the northeastern region of India.

The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, Government of Assam, India, is implementing the Guwahati Water Supply Project and has appointed a Joint Venture of international companies, including Berger, as Project Management Consultants (PMC). PMC services being provided involve overall project management, preparation of overall management plan for project implementation, surveys, design work and cost estimates, assistance in tender process, and construction supervision and management.

• Post Graduate Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, construction, review and monitoring, and commissioning of community water supply projects
• Experience involving at least one comprehensive water supply project of approximately 25 million gallons per day (100 million liters per day) capacity, fully functional to full design capacity for at least two years as of December 2008
• Experience in India or other developing countries is considered a plus
• Applicant should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience, the ability to interact with management and staff effectively, and work well with construction contractors and government officials
